An Unexpected Guest

by foodhoe on June 4, 2011

We have been enjoying a variety of spring lettuces that we had growing in a wine barrel, the tender leaves made such a delicious salad when we plucked it right before our meal.  I harvested the last of it and ran it through a salad spinner and after we tossed it with a nice vinaigrette, Mr. K noticed this little snail creeping along the perimeter of the salad bowl…  He didn’t seem too dizzy from the spinner.

We are on the way to Yosemite, driving through pounding rain and blustery winds.  Mank actually stopped to pickup chains because there is a possibility of a storm this weekend!  The weather gods are fickle…  and the waterfalls should be gorgeous.  Anyways, off for a short vaca, be back soon!

Cute! It means that your salad is not full of chemicals…

My mom says the snails are out in force this year. Probably all that wet weather we’ve been having. Hopefully you’ve returned from Yosemite as the weather here now is awesome!

Lovely shot! The snail almost looks like he’s moving.
