I walked by and poked my head in a few times because they have a sign that they are open for lunch. I thought it looked very inviting but in the back of my mind I pictured that it would be filled with smokers of every kind. I finally decided that the outdoor courtyard setting combined with the warm sunny weather we were enjoying precluded these concerns, went in and found it to be the perfect lunchspot.

It is nicely hidden with a lovely brick-lined courtyard where you can dine al fresco and even get free refills on your soda. There’s a fountain (dry) and the sun dappled courtyard is protected from the wind and very cozy and serene. I imagine it is a different scene at night with the full bar and live entertainment!

JT and I ordered the CBG Cheeseburger, the patty was a spiced 8oz Ground Chuck, served with lettuce, slices of tomato, onion, a creamy aioli on a chewy ciabatta bun. We could definitely taste cumin mixed into the burger, but ended up asking our server for a breakdown of the spices, she said cumin, california chili, and garlic. The burger was big and juicy which the spongelike ciabatta bun soaked up and I enjoyed every bite. The fries were scrawny, a little reminiscent of fast food fries, but I ate them all too….

DDR had a Traditional Caesar Salad with grilled chicken. The lettuce was well dressed with a garlicky and creamy dressing that was tart and spiked with shredded parmesan.

P had the Grilled Ribeye with fries and broccoli rabe. The steak was tender and juicy with a nicely crisped exterior and was finished with a delicious melted herb butter.

I was very happy with the food, service and the lovely courtyard setting and the $9 burger is a steal for this part of town. Now that we’re enjoying sunny days, I will definitely be back.
